America's most and least trusted professions

Does the person makes the job or does the job make the person? Is the work you do the person you are or are those identities separate? Is there a difference between a vocation and a career and is one more honorable than the other?

While those existential questions may have no right answer, public opinion around the integrity of different jobs is certainly worth understanding. The expert pollsters at Gallup sought out to gauge what people think of the character of individuals based on their chosen field. Gallup interviewed 1,049— adults, ages 18+, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia to find out which professions were the most and least trusted by asking them to rate the various fields on honesty and ethical standards. We've included the full list of professions included in the Gallup data which reflects a range of categorizations, including broader professions like journalists in addition to more granular occupations like TV Reporters and Newspaper Reporters.

Read on to see the results and maybe even find out the general consensus on the trustworthiness your own career.
